Second James Scarth Gale Translation Prize Awarded

The Centre for the Study of Korea at the University of Toronto has announced the award of the second James Scarth Gale translation prize to Prof. John Frankl of Underwood College, Yonsei University, for his translation of Yi Sang’s “Lingering Impressions of a Mountain Village.” The translation is available on the CSK’s Web site: www.utoronto.ca/csk/prize.html.

Translation Prize

The Centre for Korean Studies at the University of Toronto is hosting a translation prize for non-fiction pieces of writing on Korea. The winner of the top prize will receive an award of Cdn$1000. The objective of this award is to promote, and make public, materials useful for the teaching of courses on modern Korea.
