The Center for Korean Studies, in cooperation with the University of Hawai‘i Academy for Creative Media, The Korean Film Council (KOFIC), and KBFD-TV, will present a public symposium on the Korean film industry Friday, September 8, 2006, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Center for Korean Studies auditorium.
The 41st annual Asian Studies on the Pacific Coast conference will be held in Honolulu June 15-June 17, 2007. The conference organizers welcome proposals for papers in all areas of Asian studies related to the conference theme, “Looking at Asia: Changes, Continuities, and Consequences.”
The Center for Korean Studies fall 2006 colloquium series begins August 30 with a presentation by Dr. Sung-Yun Bak, a visiting scholar at the Center and professor of English and linguistics SungKyunKwan University.
The colloquium will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2006, in the Center for Korean Studies conference room.
Enrollment is still available in the UH Korean dance class for the fall semester. The class meets Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. Students who have had prior experience in Korean dance can enroll in DNCE 405; students who have had no prior experience can enroll in DNCE 305.
